We had dinner last night at Le Relais de Venise – L’Entrecote at Porte Maillot, which Hugo had introduced me to last year. It’s a real Parisian institution, even though it is part of a small chain (two in London and one in New York).
I explained how it works in last year’s post— the only thing your waitress asks is how you want your steak cooked!
I was taken this year with the fabulous hostess so I asked whether she would be in a photo with us. She first posed with Alan, then joined us at our table!
A 50-ish diner at the next table told us that his parents had first brought him to Le Relais de Venise when he was four years old, and that the hostess was already working there!
After dinner we took the métro to the Arc de Triomphe (Charles de Gaulle – Etoile), and walked home from there, including a stop at HMV on the Champs Elysée, still open and busy past 23h (11 pm).
